This time it led to a new combination: WOLLION teamed up with the incredibly gifted HARADA, who's already responsible for outstanding releases on Leftroom, Audio Therapy or Electribe to form a new project for our BLUFIN imprint.
Metropolitan Fulltime internalizes the spirit of a true capital: dark, moody, somehow industrial but fascinating and hypnotizing at the same time! It perfectly reflects what current minimal sound is about, achieving an atmosphere with subtle moves that keeps everybody interested and right in the groove.

With releases on Live to Tape Recordings, Decibel NYC and Black Van Records, Vancouver based project MALE MODEL MACHINE consisting of Stephan F. & Alex D. has already established a very fine reputation with their dirty, modern sound. VOODOO fits perfectly right into their line of outstanding releases with its crunchy bassline, the dark hypnotic subs and short sounds that draw the attention towards the floor. The track shows their capabilities as producers as well as being fans of mean electronic music, that is purposed for only one thing. Dropping a bomb on the floor and watch it go off!
The base elements of the track are very well suitable for minimal music. Proven by the UK based CHESHIRE CATZ remix. While they are quite successful in the London Scene for some time already, their success is nowadays not limited to the UK alone, but international gigs and productions. Their interpretation is more pumping, strict and reduced in drumming, but leaves an impression for sure. Modern clubmusic the way it should be done.
MENACE is mean, loud, proud and ment to be that way! While the drumming stays in the background most of the time, the sounds just doesn't stop to reach new heights and wobbles its way into your ears. After having released already successful cuts with their own mark, the combination of them, led into a masterpiece of modern electronic music.
Dark, wobbling basses, minimal drumming and the love for harmony. it proves once again that nowadays music has the right show up melodies without sounding too ungraceful.

JOACHIM SPIETH, who's responsible for releases on Paso Music, Traum Schallplatten, Kompakt and many more adds an interpretation of his own by tearing apart the original sound structures and glueing them back together in a very deep and twisted environment. Close to the sound of Border Community, he sure adds a great range of variety for DJs with open minds.
The B-Side with IRR GEFÜHL is focussing on the base elements of clubmusic. A certain amount of deepness, a certain portion of rave and one thing without doubt, a bassline that couldn't be more effective on the floor. While the breaks continue to sweep and increase the tension, PIERCE & WESEN were smart enough to fall back everytime again and to maintain the golden rule: less is more!

A "Satellite" combines different periods of time. First thing you see is the same look and view of the sixties space architecture, if you focus deeper though the most advanced technology a scientist could dream of. Combining oldschool and newschool elements is the key element of a modern production, no matter if it's NASA or both legends ACQUAVIVA & LÜTZENKIRCHEN to deliver a masterpiece that is functional in every possible way. Sirens and oldschool stabs on one side, combined with electronic fierceness and drumming madness.
The B-Side "Hurt Me" is more agressive, sawtooth sounds modulating through every spectrum of frequencies. At least one will get your ears bleeding or just the mind blowing if you're lucky enough to survive. Either way - sure will get any DJ attention and massive response to the set!
Cologne based producer PIERCE gives the "Satellite" Original a new face with his remix. Long synth build ups, reduced drumming and massive compression focus on the basic needs and desires of a rocking dancefloor: to celebrate a break, a melody and to freak out when it starts at zero again. Similar to recent productions such as pryda he sure knows how to concentrate on few elements only, but to bring deepness to a new level.

Belgian based dj & producer KOLOMBO goes crazy! If electronic music would be of more interest to the public media this would be the headline on "The Sun" right beside Prince Williams new entics with young woman who wanna feel like a princess at least one time in their life. At least you get that impression when first listening to SKALPY on a huge soundsystem since one word describes it the best: WICKED! A funked up bassline with hypnotizing frequency adds, reduced and kicking percussions, hi pass breaks and then back to the start with deep twisted crazyness. If you don't get daft about it, the floor sure will!
Second composition MAKE IT concentrates on the basic elements of electronic music: delayed breaks, opening resonances and falling back to the base structures again. You could call it simple somehow, but aren't the most simple things in life the greatest if they work ;)
RAMON TAPIA enters the competition with a remix of SKALPY. LFO swings, steady drumming, noise adds and that bit of a twisted "border community" shuffle we loved for so many years result in a smooth and very functional interpretation of the original tune.

There are loads of attributes you could define a great production with, it's got great sounds, great arrangement, a crazy idea or even better and the base of all things as George Clinton would say: IT'S GOT THE FUNK! Swiss producer MOGI, who already established his own label WOLKENFUNKEN with success sums it up this time on BLUFIN Records with the voice of Rochelle praising their "NATION IN A FUNK". Electronic, but with the deepness needed to deliver modern and state to the art sound they managed to finish one of those tracks, you just can't stop nodding your head to.
The Dub Version mostly waives the vocal and concentrates on the sounds themselves which makes it great for deeper sets and especially the morning hours when that bit of hypnotizing structures is needed to keep the crowd going. Contrary to that the Butch remix pushes the original to a true primetime hit on electro floors worldwide. Classic build-ups, a crispy bassline and lots of noise adds will do their job fine!
Dunno about the nation yet, but hell yeah - they got us so far!

Well, with the slight difference of having 2007 and a lot more options when it comes to beatstructures, sound engineering and general music production. All aspects which the UK based producer Cass Cutbush mastered in perfection. The melancholic mood of the vocals reminds of legends like Depeche Mode, thus not losing the focus for the floor and an excessive clubnight. Deliberate abdication of typical and meanwhile boring structures such as filtering, rolls or cutoff sweeps prove even more the strong fundament this masterpiece of electronic music is built on. Sometimes less is more, when that "less" means everything to the crowd in a club!
Strong Remix package this time from FLINSCH 'N NIELSON who marked down the track to a raving leadline paired with modern, extreme clean and tight drumming. Just about the combination you need to please a crowd demanding more then plain minimal, but still the touch of underground! Like their recent Effekthascher EP this remix proves the duo is on a good way of getting big in the biz!
Swiss based producer and labelowner of Wolkenfunken Recordings MOGI delivers an ideal bridge just between the mixes. The drumming reduced, the synths short and the vocals cut. The best of two worlds you could say actually. On one hand the strong and forcing power of nowadays electro style, combined with the cool- and deepness of minimal beats.

"Massive" is a huge electro-monster that reflects the sound of the hour perfectly and caused mass hysteria during selected club plays already.
